We will deconstruct the pose from the hands up, focusing on the specific strength and flexibility required to stack your bones efficiently.
The Curriculum:
- Foundation: Wrist warm-ups and understanding shoulder isolation
- Alignment: Drills for shoulder, elevation and core compression to eliminate the “banana back.”
- Safety: Exploring kick-up entries and safe exits because handstands are mainly a game of comfort and trust.
- Application: Supportive partner work to feel the line, and techniques to integrate handstands into a dynamic flow.
Level: Open to all. Whether you are working on your first kick-up or refining your line, you will leave with a toolkit of drills to continue your journey at home.
About Emilie:
Meet Emilie, a certified yoga teacher with 500 hours of training and over six years of full time teaching experience. Her yoga journey began in Cape Town, weaving through India and Indonesia before finding roots in Luxembourg. Emilie’s certifications span Hatha, Vinyasa, Ashtanga, and Yin, combined with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). While versatile, her true passion lies in teaching dynamic vinyasa classes infused with lots of functional movement and arm balances/inversions. Her teaching philosophy is rooted in the concept of moving for longevity and in ways that challenge and bring you joy.
