Jivamukti Open XL:
FRIDAY 18:30-20:30 & SATURDAY 10:00-12:00:
Whether you’re a beginner, deciphering the difference between vrksasana (tree) and sirshasana (headstand) or an advanced yogi who can put both feet behind their head, the Jivamukti Open class welcomes you, as it is open to practitioners of all levels. You work at your own pace, following the teacher’s verbal as well as hands-on guidance. Asana options will be provided for beginners, intermediate and advanced students. A typical Open class incorporates the five tenets of Jivamukti Yoga: shastra (scripture) bhakti (devotion) ahimsa (kindness) nada (music) dhyana (meditation) An Open class presents classical yoga teachings as relevant to one’s life on and off the mat, drawn from the Focus of the Month essay, supported by chanting, breath awareness, flowing vinyasa sequences, alignment exploration, hands-on assistance, relaxation and meditation. All Open classes include 14 points—asanas, meditation and spiritual teachings—in a sequence creatively designed by the teacher. Exuberant, eclectic music plays an integral role: you might practice to a shifting soundtrack of ragas, global trance, hip-hop, spoken word, George Harrison, Sting, Krishna Das, Donna de Lory, Michael Franti, Bill Laswell, Alice Coltrane and Mozart. The class is called “Open” because it is open and suitable to all levels of practitioner. Even so, beginning level students should know that there will not be much detailed “how to do” descriptions; for that a student is advised to attend a Basic or Beginner Vinyasa Class.

Time to hear and truly listen to your inner voice.
As we step into a new year, we’re given a powerful opportunity to pause:
to reflect on what the past year taught us,
to offer gratitude for what shaped us,
to gently release what no longer serves,
to honour what keeps us grounded,
and to plant new seeds for who we are becoming.
This circle is created to guide you through that transition —
to look back with clarity and forward with intention.
The practices we will move through:
✨ gentle yin flow
🎶 chanting with harmonium
📝 introspective writing guided by reflective questions — gently inviting you to reflect on what shaped, challenged, and grounded you, and what you’re ready to release
🔮 oracle card pulling
😌 deep guided relaxation
Offer yourself — or someone dear — a meaningful gift:
intentional time to reconnect within.
A shift from “Why is this happening to me?”
toward “Who do I want to become?”
Sharing presence through chanting can open unexpected spaciousness in the heart. This circle invites you to experience the power of collective energy. Come share space, breathe, chant, reflect, and simply be.

This class is open to practitioners of all levels and will follow the traditional structure of a Jivamukti Open class, combining mindful movement, breath awareness, and meditation with thoughtful sequencing rooted in classical yoga teachings. Jivamukti Yoga emphasises the integration of physical practice, philosophical reflection, breath, music, and meditation in a balanced and grounded way.For this session, Christophe Demart will accompany the practice with a live vinyl DJ set designed to enrich your experience. The music will be woven into the rhythm of the class, supporting inner focus and presence while enhancing the sensory environment of the practice.
At the close of the session, we will extend the final meditation and savasana to create space for deeper listening and appreciation of the live mixing. This deliberate attention to sound and silence invites a calm and reflective state, underscoring the role of music and attentive listening within the Jivamukti tradition.
Whether you are familiar with Jivamukti Yoga or exploring it for the first time, this practice offers an opportunity to cultivate steadiness, awareness, and openness through movement, breath, and sound.

The ‘Teens Yoga’ classes provide a non-competitive environment for teenagers to explore asanas that can help build self-confidence and strength. With breathing and relaxation techniques, concentration can be improved as well as stress reduced. Connecting to their bodies in a loving way, while staying playful and fun allows them to truly hear the messages of their own heart and make choices that resonate with their personal values. Classes often revolve around a philosophical theme and may include discussion, journaling, or chanting of mantras.

Saturday 23rd May: 9:00-11:30 Technical Led Asana class with Gregor Maehle (90€)
Students of all yoga styles can benefit from Gregor’s Led Asana Class. Here, Gregor will analyse the many intricate anatomical details of accessible yoga postures, while maintaining as much pace as possible. The focus will be on breaking down the various phases of entering and exiting the postures into their constituents. Performing postures safely while understanding which anatomical actions will get us deep into the asanas will prevent unnecessary energy expenditure. Through inducing precision, this format also achieves the release of conditioning and emotions lodged in bodily tissue, preparing us for the higher limbs of pranayama and meditation.
Saturday 23rd May: 13:30-16:30 The Breath of Yoga – Pranayama and Kriya workshop with Gregor Maehle (90€)
Imagine how great it would be to have a switch that, when operated, would enable you to consciously choose between your right and left brain hemispheres, intuitive and analytical intelligence, sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems, fight/flight reflex and rest/relaxation, and between the male and female, solar and lunar, aspects of your psyche. How great it would be if, when required, you could switch from being compassionate to doggedly determined. Or from being charged with energy to being completely relaxed within a few minutes. Or from extrovert (physically present, expressive and outgoing) to introvert (reflective and absorbing) within a short time. This switch does, in fact, exist, and it is not at all hidden. It is the prominently protruding olfactory orifice right in the middle of your face: your nose.
Pranayama includes some of the most neglected yet most powerful methods of yoga. Pranayama is the vital link that connects asana to meditation, without which the combined benefit of both cannot be harvested. Learn how to use pranayama to harmonize the doshas (humors of the body) and thus attain a state of health and balance as well as how to still the mind, enabling spiritual insight.
The kriyas are predominantly methods of purification of the body. They support the work of postures and are especially important for people who live in large cities. They aid in removing contamination from chemical, environmental, electrical, biological and electromagnetic sources.

Bio Gregor Maehle:
Gregor Maehle began his yogic practices 48 years ago. In the mid-1980s he commenced annual travels to India, where he studied with various yogic and tantric masters, traditional Indian sadhus and ascetics. He spent fourteen months in Mysore, and in 1997 was authorised to teach Ashtanga Yoga by K. Pattabhi Jois. Since then, he has branched out into researching the anatomical alignment of postures and the higher limbs of yoga.
In India Gregor also received eight months of mostly one-on-one instruction in scripture and the higher limbs of Yoga through B.N.S. Iyengar, a student of T. Krishnamacharya, and he studied Sanskrit under Professor Narayanachar and Dr Chandrasekhar. Gregor’s internationally acclaimed textbook series consisting of Ashtanga Yoga: Practice and Philosophy, Ashtanga Yoga: The Intermediate Series, Pranayama: The Breath of Yoga, Yoga Meditation: Through Mantra, Chakras and Kundalini to Spiritual Freedom, Samadhi The Great Freedom, How to Find Your Life’s Divine Purpose, Chakras, Drugs & Evolution and Mudras: Seals of Yoga and Bhakti: Yoga of Love – have sold more than 100,000 copies worldwide and have been translated into 10 foreign languages. His zany sense of humour, his manifold personal experiences, and his vast and deep knowledge of scripture, Indian philosophies and yogic techniques combine to make his teachings applicable, relevant and easily accessible to all his students.

BALANCING THE PELVIS
The Seat of Yoga
The most common pain-generating problem I see in yogis stems from a torqued or twisted pelvis. Nearly everyone (if not everyone!) has one, which results in us having a functional short leg. However, it is the degree of your pelvic torsion that determines how severe the compensations of this are to the rest of your body.
Knowing how to balance your pelvis is probably the most effective preventative and therapeutic tool you can have. Our pelvis roots our spine so any imbalance here effects everything above it and also places stresses on the joints below. It especially effects the alignment and function of our spine and sacrum, our sacroiliac and hip joints and our knee joints. For example, of the 14 muscles that cross the knee joint, seven of them originate at your pelvis! The stress of a pelvic torsion is often the cause of knee pain, wear and tear and eventual injury.
In this workshop we look at the causes, the muscles involved, how we can access ourselves and others and, most importantly, how we can practically rebalance the muscles involved for a healthy pelvic balance.
Especially when seated, our pelvis is our base, our support and our connection to earth. It houses and protects our organs of procreation, digestion and elimination. Females are especially prone to pelvic stresses. Understanding and recognising the typical problems of this area both educates and empowers us to manage them and to care for and heal ourself and others. Emotionally, the balance of our pelvis enables us to create, to integrate and to let go of what is not needed.
*For this workshop you will need two yoga blocks, two tennis balls and a long sock.
