WITH ALEXANDRA COLOMBO AND MAGALI LEHNERS
18 – 25 JUNE 2022

On this retreat, you will have the chance to energize and heal your body deepening your personal yoga practice through Jivamukti Yoga. You will calm and focus your mind through chanting, meditation, and deep relaxation.

ALEXANDRA COLOMBO
Is an Advanced Certified Jivamukti Teacher from Luxembourg.
Her yoga journey started during her pregnancy, in 2007. She was amazed at how tyoga was giving her the ability to grow into a more compassionate, strong and balanced human being. It seemed natural that the next step would be to share her passion with others, so with this in mind I enrolled in a 100H Anusara Immersion course in Bruxelles, under the guidance of Jayendra Hanley. In 2014 she stepped out of the world of business to become a Jivamukti Yoga Teacher. She completed her 300 hour Jivamukti Teacher Training in India in early 2015. In September 2016 she co-founded Yoga Palais. In March 2019 she co-founded Jivamukti Yoga Luxembourg, the first official Jivamukti center in Luxembourg. She became an advanced certified Jivamukti Yoga teacher in 2019.

MAGALI LEHNERS
Is an Advanced Certified Jivamukti Teacher from Luxembourg.
Since 2007 she worked in Jivamukti Yoga Centers in Munich as an 800 hours certified Jivamukti Yoga teacher and became an advanced certified Jivamukti Yoga teacher in 2016. Beside that she took an Ashtanga teacher training course with David Swenson, a Sivananda Teacher Training in the Himalayas and a Kidsyoga teacher training with Thomas Bannenberg. Furthermore, she has taken part in workshops and retreats all over the world and served as a mentor in the 2018 Jivamukti Teacher Training in Germany.
Aside from her work as a yoga teacher she studied geography, sociology and ethnology and did a PhD in Urbanism at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich.

In 2014 she became co-founder of Dancing Kala Yoga in Luxembourg and Yoga Palais in 2016. In March 2019 she co-founded Jivamukti Yoga Luxembourg, the first official Jivamukti center in Luxembourg.

SALENTO
SALENTO is that portion of Italian land where the West meets the East, point of
fusion among ancient civilizations of the Medi- terranean; an earth to be discovered, kissed by the sun and by a crystalline sea. Salento is a coffer rich of inestimable treasures: medieval white stone villages built perpendicularly to the sea, innumerable evidences of ancient civiliza- tion, country churches, Romanesque Cathe- drals, monumental Basilicas, »federician« castles, archaeological areas (dolmen, menhir), uncontaminated oases, millenary olive groves, park and sea reserves, splendid carsic caves, suggestive and unique »Trulli« houses, the Baroque art, sacred and pagan rites, local fairs, feasts, perfumes and tastes and the deli- ciousness of an authentic and genuine kitchen.
»Yoga in Salento«, our location, is immersed in the magical beauty and nature of Salento where the sun is strong, the coastline is wild, the sea is crystal clear and the traditional local Pizzica music & dance are contagious.

LOCATION: YOGA IN SALENTO – AGRICOLA SAMADHI (www.yogainsalento.com)
Agricola Samadhi is a last generation organic farmhouse located in southern Puglia in the heart of Salento in the Grecia Salentina countryside right in the heart of Zollino, just a few steps from the quaint country train station.
Immersed in the fascinating and authentic atmosphere of Puglia, the Agricola Samadhi farmhouse enjoys a strategic location to dis- cover Salento, just 10 minutes from Lecce and 20 minutes from the most beautiful beaches on the Ionic and Adriatic Seas.
The rooms are located on the large estate, divided into three apartments and the main building with a portico that was completed in July 2011 that overlook the antique villa.
Agricola Samadhi is mixing tradition and innovation both with its offerings and form: two elegant antique buildings from the early 20th century are near recently renovated buildings, surrounded by a green park, immersed in the sound of the wind between the magnificent fronds of the palms and the song of the birds and the hum of the cicadas.
Decide whether to relax along the edge of our large, fresh pool, enjoy an Ayurvedic treatment, a Thai or Shiatzu massage, enjoy the wind caressing the fronds of the palms as you relax in a hammock, walk the 10 hectares of the property or go discover Salento: there’s time for nature walks, artistic excursions, trekking, bicycle tours, horseback riding and sails!

Workshop:

24/06/2022 WORKSHOP WITH JOAN HYMAN in collaboration with Yoga La Source
Yoga Teacher Clinic: How to Read Bodies
15:00 – 18:00

Yoga Teacher Clinic: How to Read Bodies
Friday, June 24th, 2022 15:00 – 18:00

Yoga La Source and Jivamukti Yoga Luxembourg are very happy to collaborate together in the organization of this workshop with Joan Hyman.

Joan Hyman has been giving teacher trainings internationally for years as director of hatha yoga teacher trainings for Wanderlust and independently.

Whether you are a teacher or yoga practitioner, join Joan in this Friday 3-hour clinic (15:00-18:00) to understand correct alignment and how to use props to support postures and prevent injury. This clinic is specifically designed to improve how to read bodies in order to make adjustments that meet students' individual needs. We will learn how to increase longevity in one's practice by studying the anatomy in poses and learn how to stack the bones so muscles can work in an optimal way. This clinic will help to improve your confidence as a teacher by refining your instruction, the use of props, and learning to adjust to your individual needs and those of others.

We will slowly climb up each platform of the body and refine each section to create stability and support in vulnerable places like the knees, low back, and neck. Joan will open with a brief discussion of the anatomy of the bones and muscles that support each section before moving into a workshop-style practice using wall space and props to help to align the bones and teach how to engage deeper muscles needed to support the joints. Joan will look at different bodies and point out areas that are dull (tamasic) or overworked (rajasic) and teach how to find balance (sattvic) in these areas. Gain an understanding on how to work with props and wall space to align from the inside-out and light up the postures helping one's practice to feel buoyant and leave the body feeling transformed.

This workshop is beneficial for all teachers regardless of yoga style. If you are not a teacher but are interested, email us.

Also join Joan for her weekend workshop “Making Ashtanga Accessible for Everyone” June 25th-26th. Her Indian retreats are one of nine recommended by Yoga Journal.

Inversions and Shoulder Stability
Saturday 25 june 2022 14:00 – 16:30
Healthy shoulders make for better inversions and add more longevity to your practice. With the multiple downward dogs and chatarungas of one's daily Ashtanga practice, your shoulders can be vulnerable to injury over time.

Learn how to use props and alignment cues to better understand how to stabilize your shoulders, helping you access other postures and prevent impingent. This workshop will start with a lecture pointing out the bones and muscles that make up the shoulder girdle and teach you how to move safely from your shoulder blades while protecting the vulnerable muscles like your rotator cuffs. We will then move into a shoulder-focused asana practice, which will include inversions and learn how to approach them safely by creating stability in the shoulder joint with the use of props and alignment cues. You'll learn ways to work with a strap that will help you understand how to externally rotate your shoulders, creating stability and reducing injury. Practice and learn at the same time while creating a sustainable safe yoga practice!
