Join Magali and Alexandra from August 24th to August 31st 2024, for a week in Puglia, a corner of Italy which incapsulate the ancient wild and native soul in the Salento, between ancestral rites, the emerald green of the sea, the parched trees beyond the stone walls, wide sea-coasts with olive trees, watched by bold votive spires and gauzy Baroque façades…

On this retreat, you will have the chance to energize and heal your body deepening your personal yoga practice through Jivamukti Yoga. You will calm and focus your mind through chanting, meditation, and deep relaxation.

On this retreat we will offer teens Yoga classes in addition to the Jivamukti Yoga classes, which allow the whole family to embark on a transformative journey of self-discovery and well-being.

Excluding the day of arrival, departure and a day off with an optional early morning class, the yoga courses will be held daily.

The morning practice with Alexandra and Magali is a classical Jivamukti package of tradition, music, singing, meditation, bhakti and Jivamukti vinyasa flow.

Afternoon classes are focused on alignment, building the blocks to certain poses, meditation, yoga philosophy. They’ll also have lots of restorative elements including YIN yoga and yoga NIDRA.

The ‘Teens Yoga’ classes provide a non-competitive environment for teenagers to explore asanas that can help build self-confidence and strength. With breathing and relaxation techniques, concentration can be improved as well as stress reduced. Connecting to their bodies in a loving way, while staying playful and fun allows them to truly hear the messages of their own heart and make choices that resonate with their personal values. Classes often revolve around a philosophical theme and may include discussion, journaling, or chanting of mantras.

Recharge your soul with the nourishing Italian sun and sea, fuel yourself with deliciously good vegetarian and vegan food, enjoy the beauty of this corner of paradise.

You will have an entire week to take care of yourself and enjoy your life to the fullest with Magali and Alexandra.

JIVAMUKTI YOGA

Jivamukti Yoga combines a vigorous asana practice with meditation, breathing techniques, music and study of the ancient textes and its relevance to daily life. The classes are focused on alignment and building the blocks to certain poses.

ALEXANDRA COLOMBO
Is an Advanced Certified Jivamukti Teacher from Luxembourg.
Her yoga journey started during her pregnancy, in 2007. She was amazed at how yoga was giving her the ability to grow into a more compassionate, strong and balanced human being. Alexandra completed her 300 hour Jivamukti Teacher Training in India in early 2015. In September 2016 she co-founded Yoga Palais. In March 2019 she co-founded Jivamukti Yoga Luxembourg, the first official Jivamukti center in Luxembourg and she became an advanced certified Jivamukti Yoga teacher. In 2023 she has been mentoring the Jivamukti TT.

Yoga taught her that the most beautiful gift is the breath and that if we can breathe we can live. And since we have this gift of life she will do her best to live as beautifully as she can.

 

MAGALI LEHNERS
Is an Advanced Certified Jivamukti Teacher from Luxembourg.
Since 2007 she worked in Jivamukti Yoga Centers in Munich as an 800 hours certified Jivamukti Yoga teacher and became an advanced certified Jivamukti Yoga teacher in 2016. Beside that she took an Ashtanga teacher training course with David Swenson, a Sivananda Teacher Training in the Himalayas and a Kidsyoga teacher training with Thomas Bannenberg. Furthermore, she has taken part in workshops and retreats all over the world and served as a mentor in the 2018 Jivamukti Teacher Training in Germany.
Aside from her work as a yoga teacher she studied geography, sociology and ethnology and did a PhD in Urbanism at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich.

In 2014 she became co-founder of Dancing Kala Yoga in Luxembourg and Yoga Palais in 2016. In March 2019 she co-founded Jivamukti Yoga Luxembourg, the first official Jivamukti center in Luxembourg.

LOCATION: YOGA IN SALENTO – AGRICOLA SAMADHI
Agricola Samadhi is a last generation organic farmhouse located in southern Puglia in the heart of Salento in the Grecia Salentina countryside right in the heart of Zollino, just a few steps from the quaint country train station.
Immersed in the fascinating and authentic atmosphere of Puglia, the Agricola Samadhi farmhouse enjoys a strategic location to dis- cover Salento, just 10 minutes from Lecce and 20 minutes from the most beautiful beaches on the Ionic and Adriatic Seas.
The rooms are located on the large estate, divided into three apartments and the main building with a portico that was completed in July 2011 that overlook the antique villa.
Agricola Samadhi is mixing tradition and innovation both with its offerings and form: two elegant antique buildings from the early 20th century are near recently renovated buildings, surrounded by a green park, immersed in the sound of the wind between the magnificent fronds of the palms and the song of the birds and the hum of the cicadas.

Gillian was fortunate to find Ashtanga in her early twenties and has been practicing and teaching for the last twenty years. She has studied in Mysore with Sharath and Patabhi Jois as well as with senior Ashtanga teachers Richard Freeman, Kathy Cooper and Paul Dallaghan. She has also undertaken advanced Pranayama studies with Paul. Since she is a mum of 3 young kids she now has a special interest in Ashtanga during pregnancy and in maintaining a practice post kids. She strongly believes that when taught correctly (i.e. with correct alignment and breath) Ashtanga is for everybody. Most of all, she brings a sense of fun and playfulness into her teaching that makes the practice of Ashtanga accessible and beneficial to all.

ABOUT CONOR:
Conor, a Jivamukti Advanced Certified teacher based in Paris, was raised in the United States and served two years in Senegal as a member of the United States Peace Corps. Conor’s love for yoga began at the age of 18 and it has been the great joy and guide. His teachers have instilled in him a deep belief in the transformative power of asana, meditation, pranayama and deep wisdom, as well as the expansion of compassion and insight through embodied experience.

Conor recently completed his Master’s studies in neuroscience at Humboldt Universität, Berlin. He aims to synthesize contemporary science and ancient spirituality by integrating them into the light of mindful practice. Conor continues his humanitarian work in Senegal and other developing countries with his non-profit organization Jango Project. He has had the good fortune to study with many Jivamukti teachers namely Sharon Gannon, David Life, Yogeswari, Lady Ruth and his mentor Anja Kühnel. He has mentored the Jivamukti 300-hour teacher training in India and the 75-hour Jivamukti Spiritual Warrior teacher training at Jivamukti Paris with Ian Szydlowski-Alvarez.

The Restore and Renew Jivamukticlass is designed to rest your mind and you body. It involves gentle movements, breathing techniques, meditation, a guided relaxation, Sanskrit chanting and asana that are held for a couple of minutes. You will feel physically and mentally restored after taking this class . We will use props to assist the body and also guide it to let go . . Your fascia will be gently but effectively stretched, your breath elongated and your mind calmed. It’s a perfect end of the week 2hour practice.

About Andrea:

Andrea has been studying yoga since her twenties and teaching yoga since 2000 . She is an Advanced Jivamukti teacher studying directly from Sharon Gannon and David life and is a mentor on the Jivamukti teacher training faculty teaching at various Jivamukti centres around Europe . Andrea is a Level 2 trained yin teacher under the guidance of Sarah Powers since 2004 when she began yin yoga . She has also trained with Judith Lasater and is certified in Restorative yoga . Andrea has been mentoring teachers since 2008 . She completed the Michael stone Mindfulness training in 2020. She teaches various workshops and retreats both in the UK and abroad. Her teachings are infused with stories , laughter and lightness .

Andrea has taught at the UK In-spa retreat and in Morocco in 2023.
