Ashtanga Yoga Sun Salutation A
The Ashtanga Yoga Sun Salutation A, known as “Surya Namaskara A” in Sanskrit, is a foundational sequence of movements used to warm up the body and synchronise breath with movement. It consists of a series of 9 postures performed in a fluid, continuous flow. Each movement is coordinated with either an inhalation or exhalation, creating a dynamic and energising practice. Sun Salutation A is a fundamental component of the Ashtanga Yoga tradition and serves as a starting point for many yoga practitioners.
